Aspen with St. Regis
I traveled to Colorado for the first time in partnership with the St. Regis Aspen for their annual Snow Polo Championship.
I was so excited to get started on this project as Aspen had been on my bucket list for travel destinations for as long as I can remember. Upon landing at the smallest most quaint airport between the mountains, I could feel the crisp air and fresh snow upon me- I had finally arrived! I was of course bundled up, and thankfully just enough for the low 40 degree weather. I was surprised to learn what a small town Aspen actually was- about 4 blocks I believe- but nothing short of the glamour and ultra chic lifestyle I had imagined. As we drove into town from the airport, I was blown away by the snow covered homes and quickly realized I was in a of ‘Winter Wonderland’. We pulled up to the St. Regis and were welcomed by warm smiles and a lovely staff. I had heard so much about the afternoon hot chocolate and couldn’t wait to take Ash since it’s her favorite! We unpacked, grabbed lunch, and sipped hot cocoa by the fireplace.
The morning before the much anticipated Snow Polo Championship was spent at Buttermilk Mountain for some ski lessons. After two hours on the snow we were famished and greeted by the most spectacular view of Aspen for lunch. The 20-minute ride up and down the lift was a respite to the killer workout we had endured whilst skiing. We were so exhausted- in the best way possible- and excited to get back to the cozy St. Regis for a break. We re-grouped with everyone and prepared for an epic dinner up a snow cat and into dinner.
The day of the Snow Polo Championship had finally arrived, and we traveled a short distance over to the field. I was so excited to meet Nacho Figueras, brand ambassador for St. Regis, and highly esteemed snow polo player. I remember him mostly from the Ralph Lauren ads growing up! It was my first polo match, and such an awesome experience to see it being played in the snow. Polo symbolizes such a classically luxe lifestyle that I couldn’t wait to partake in, and the crowd didn’t disappoint. Men and women alike arrived in their best coats and were mingling about the tents. Anytime I get to combine my two passions: fashion and sports, i’m happy.
I had such an amazing experience in Aspen that Ash and I are already planning our next trip back; We’re less than a 2-hour flight away! Have any of you ever visited? I would love to hear about your favorite places and things to do in the city.
Many thanks to the St. Regis team for having us, and more outfit looks to come!
