Honeymooning in Cape Town & Photo Diary
The second half of my honeymoon was spent at the One and Only resort in beautiful Cape Town. Just steps away from the V&A waterfront and stunning views of Table Rock mountain, Ash and I were so blessed to call this our home for the last few days of our trip.
We landed late one evening after some flight delays, but were so warmly welcomed by the staff. They escorted us to our room which was set up with some fresh fruit, wine, and romantic petals on the bed. We slept like babies and awoke super early to get every last bit of Cape Town possible. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast downstairs in the hotel, and began our sight-seeing. We roamed along the waterfront, took a drive to Downtown to visit some cool coffee shops, and landed back at the water front for some amazing lunch- and of course, wine! South African wines are so so amazingly delicious. We both had seafood, so the waitress recommended a fantastic white that would pair well with both our dishes. We visited a nearby shopping center that sold goods made by local artisans. After perusing the shops for some time, we returned to One and Only for dinner at Nobu!
Yep, Nobu; Conveniently located in our hotel, for a celebratory dinner. Our dinner date happened to land exactly at our 1 month anniversary of being wed. We were so excited when we realized it, and our waitress quickly brought some champagne to celebrate. We opted for the set dinner menu which was paired with a beverage to compliment each dish. At times it was wine, some beer fusions, sake, and so forth. All I have to say is WOW! I am planning a trip back down to Cape Town for this dinner alone. It was outstanding.
We spent the next few days exploring the beautiful Cape, tasting all the regional wines, and exploring all of the great restaurants the city has to offer. Many afternoons were spent in the lobby bar of One and Only enjoying conversations and outstanding libations by their mixologists. The dedication and expertise put into every beverage showcased their true artistry.
One and Only Cape Town was a truly magical experience that I would recommend to any traveler, and I can’t wait to visit again.
