My First Baselworld with Carl F. Bucherer
With much anticipation, I attended my first ever Baselworld with Carl F. Bucherer. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Baselworld, simply put, it’s the worlds largest watch and jewelry trade show. Hundreds of brands come together under one roof to showcase their newest and best pieces to the world. I was so anxious to arrive to the CFB booth to see Carl F. Bucherer’s newest Manero Tourbillon Double Peripheral first hand. I learned so much about the piece and what makes it unique by Samir Merdanovic, Head of Manufacture Movement, during a private presentation. The CFB T3000 is a unique movement developed completely in-house, and “is a world first that combines a peripheral automatic winding system and a peripherally mounted tourbillon that appears to float”. Apart from all the mechanical goodness of this timepiece, it is extremely stylish and elegant as well.
I was fortunate to share this trip with 4 other influencers that inspire and push me to be my best: Igee Okafor, Sindi Arifi, Luke Ditella, and Sonia Lyson. After our Basel experience, the five of us headed to Bürgenstock which is located off the shore of Lake Lucerne. If I hadn’t already fallen completely in love with Lucerne (and home of Carl F. Bucherer), I definitely did this time. We stayed at the luxurious Bürgenstock Resort atop the mountain with breathtaking views, and contemporary glamorous design. Being surrounded by so many amazing people, and so much heritage really inspired me. The team and I were working on a super secret project that I can’t wait to share and reveal in the coming months. We were led by the dynamic duo of The Flow NYC and our fearless leader, Danijela Andjelic (CFB).
