The Knick, NYC

When Men’s Fashion Week rolls around, finding a place to stay is just as essential as your calendar full of appointments, shows, events, and fittings.  This year, I teamed up with the Knickerbocker NYC as my home-base/office for the busy week.  Conveniently located in Midtown, I was no more than 10-15 minutes from everywhere I had to be.  What was even more convenient, was the Times Square Station located footsteps away.

Our first night in from LA, Ash and I grabbed a bite at Charlie Palmer at the Knick located on the hotel’s 4th floor.  We’re usually famished after a brooding 6 hour flight, so burgers and fries were on our menu for the night.  We unpacked and settled into our room while dinner was settling in our tummies.  After about an hour or so, we worked up with courage to hit the gym- yeah, it was ambitious but so worth it.  Our health is priority at the moment, so a well equipped fitness center is always key when booking a place to stay.  Luckily for us, the Knick has a brand new fitness center with great machines and floor mats for low-impact body workouts.  My favorite surprise was the boxing section.  I felt like Rocky training for an upcoming fight!  It was the perfect remedy to switch up my cardio and practice some punches.

Over the course of the week, we created a mini routine at The Knick to help ease the jet lag. Mornings began with a 50 minute workout followed by a shower.  Second, getting dressed and heading downstairs to Jake’s Coffee for a cup of joe and some fresh juice.  We then headed out to our first appointments and shows- then back in the afternoon for happy hour drinks at St. Cloud- rooftop bar with sky scraping views of the city.  Some days we sipped rosé, and others a gin gimlet.  Summer in the city is so nice and social, and perfectly complimented by a rooftop bar.

If it’s your first visit to the ‘Big City’, or you’re looking for somewhere convenient and trendy, I highly recommend the Knick- You’re right in the center of the city, and have tons of local options for dining and entertainment, including the hotel itself!
